Adding stability to your walk, greater range to your climb, or more of a workout to your run, the Atlas 2 Piece Adjustable Trekking Poles are conveniently easy to carry and adjustable, to meet your needs whether you’re climbing up, heading down, or working your way across a tricky traverse. Do you have to have trekking poles? Well.. maybe not? If your snowshoe walks are largely on moderate terrain, in snow that isn’t more than a foot deep, you likely don’t need trekking poles unless you’d like to add an upper body workout to your walk. But if you’re heading off into more challenging terrain, poles help in every way, giving you stability and helping to propel you through deep snow. These poles are a 6000 grade aluminum, a seamless 2 part shaft with the LockJaw™ Adjustment Mechanism, giving you adjustability up to 130 cm, and fit with steel flex tips and baskets for powder. The collapsibility is a nice feature, allowing you to stow these conveniently on most winter packs, which generally have exterior pole attachment points. Straps and traditional “ski pole” grips feel familiar in your hands and allow for a nice grip and release for fast striding. Adjust the poles for comfort and leverage, lengthening or shortening them to accommodate the terrain. The non-essential piece of gear you may very well find yourself reaching for every time you head out these add range to your winter excursions and confidence in challenging conditions.
